To install and configure your cat's GPS:
1. Download the Weenect app on your smartphone (iOS or Android)
2. Create your account and choose your subscription.
3. Attach the tracker to the supplied elasticated collar, or to your own collar or harness, using the silicone case.

Your cat is now ready to be tracked in real time, anywhere and safely.

The GPS cat tracker offers up to 7 days of battery life with power-saving zones, and around 2 days with continuous tracking.

Charging is simple and takes only two hours. The Weenect app keeps you informed in real time of the battery level, and a light indicator on the tracker confirms it is charging. Once the battery is full, the light turns green and a notification lets you know the tracker is ready to use.

Yes, you can track multiple cats with a single Weenect account. The app lets you add as many trackers as you like, giving you an overview of all your pets on a shared map. However, each tracker requires its own subscription, as each device has a separate SIM card.

The GPS tracker comes with an anti-strangulation elasticated collar, specially designed for cats. Thanks to its elasticity, the cat can free itself if it gets caught on an obstacle, ensuring safe use adapted to its natural movements.

The main accident risks for cats are primarily linked to their environment (fights, disappearances, traffic) rather than to wearing a collar. When specifically designed for cats and adapted to their physique, a collar can be worn safely.

The Weenect GPS collar requires a subscription because it is fitted with a built-in SIM card that continuously transmits the animal's GPS position via the mobile network. The subscription is therefore essential to guarantee real-time tracking and unlimited range. The tracker is, in effect, the animal's phone.

There are GPS trackers without a subscription, but they do not offer the same accuracy, nor the same responsiveness, as they cannot transmit positions in real time and/or without distance limits. They are therefore unsuitable for tracking animals, which can go very far, very quickly.

The Weenect GPS collar and the microchip serve different but perfectly complementary roles.
The microchip is solely used to officially identify your cat: if lost, it allows vets or shelters to find the owner, but it does not allow the animal itself to be located. The GPS cat tracker allows you to find the animal, wherever it is, with real-time tracking and unlimited range. There is no equivalent in the form of a GPS chip or implant, for reasons of size and technology.

In summary: the chip finds the owner, the GPS finds the animal. Together, they offer optimal protection for your companion.

The Weenect XS GPS cat collar and Apple's AirTag serve very different purposes.
The AirTag uses Bluetooth technology, with a maximum range of around 50 meters. It relies on the Apple device network nearby to locate the object beyond this limit and does not allow real-time tracking. This dependency severely limits its effectiveness for animals, especially in suburban or rural areas. Furthermore, it poses a real health risk if the animal swallows it. This is why Apple does not recommend using the AirTag for dogs and cats.
